We can offer you courses in traditional Timber Framing. Start with An Introduction to Timber Framing which could be followed by 4 days of AdvancedTimber Framing.

Alternatively book yourself onto our 5 day course in Roundwood Timber Framing. Come with us into the woods to source trees and learn how to convert them into a clasp purlin roof. Included in this course is the art of making and fitting hand cleft shingles and battens.

Then there's the 5-day Timber Frame Restoration Skills  course which covers the use of Lime and Earth in heritage buildings. Find out why old buildings get damp and how to how to remedy. We also look at Timber Frame repairs and the use of Greenwood in heritage repairs. Essential information and skills for all heritage home-owners.

The use of Wattle and Daub continues to make a come-back. We can teach you how to source your own clay and coppiced wattle sticks, and construct environmentally sound walls from totally natural materials.

Step into our award winning off-grid teaching centre and rediscover the historic pace of life - hand tools and traditional techniques are perfectly  at home in our renovated 17th century timber frame barn set within an ancient orchard. You will be surrounded by inspirational examples of how historic building methods have been utilised to full effect in our teaching centre.
