Shingle making course

Learn the basics of shingle cleaving and dressing at Orchard Barn.  On these 1-day courses you will learn how to use equipment such as a shave horse and traditional hand tools - froe, side-axe and draw knife.

The skills to convert a log into roofing materials goes way back, however this traditional woodland craft is both satisfying, simple to learn and has many contemporary low-tech uses.

Come and find out how.
