Orchard Barn is open as part of
the national Heritage
Open Days scheme.
In
a time-honoured way, we
harvest our own subsoil and make best use of small dimension trees from
local woods. What could be more
natural and sustainable than that? Well if you add into the
equation that we
do the majority of the processing using human energy instead of fossil
fuel, then we're heading for negative carbon! Yes, it takes longer but
the environmental/fiscal costs are so much lower, and the
community/fitness/heritage benefits are greater.
