Taking Timber Framing Further

Taking Timber Framing Further is a practical course which is perfect for improvers, home-owners, conservation officers, architects, carpenters, builders, engineers, and anyone with a love of traditional timber framing who wants to get more involved in the carpentry and laying out.

Courses at Orchard Barn enable you to learn practical skills and gain confidence whilst making a real difference to OBee CIC's restoration project. In March 2017 planning permission was granted for the reinstatement of the ruined Suffolk Long House at Orchard Barn. Originally constructed around 1580, Taking Timber Framing Further courses will be focused on its reinstatement in a 'like for like' manner, using local trees, traditional techniques and tools.
