Advanced Timber Framing - 2 days of Medieval Timber Framing Techniques


 

Using the recently completed first floor studwork in bay 1 of the house farme we will lay out two curved braces and mark them out for jointing using essentialy Medieval techniques. We will then cut all components and fit the frame back together to complete that bay of the old house.

Not a formal taught course, but practical  days working alongside Rick Lewis progressing the replica 1580 timber frame. Carpentry experience needed. These two days are perfect for improvers, home-owners, conservation officers, architects, carpenters, builders, engineers, and anyone with a love of traditional timber framing who wants to get more involved in the practical carpentry of a big timber frame
